What We Have Done

Since its inception in 1991, the Foundation has raised over money through our annual dinner auction, charitable contributions and prudent investments. Many items have already been purchased for our schools, enriching educational opportunities for our students. Some items the Foundation has purchased include:

* special library books
* computers
* computer carts
* vocation equipment
* special classroom materials
* music and art supplies
* science material

In addition, we are building a corpus fund and investing it to grow toward our goal of a perpetual fund.

Each year the faculty of all the school facilities submit request forms to the Foundation Board. The Board, following policy guidelines, selects items that will have the most educational value to the largest number of students.

While the goal of this Foundation is primarily to benefit as many students as possible by building the general fund, the Foundation was left an additional $128,000 bequest to establish a scholarship fund. Each year, the Foundation has granted from three to five $1000 scholarships from this fund.

The Foundation recently had an opportunity to help the children of our community in an extraordinary way: to facilitate funding of restoration of the Hilltop Auditorium. The school board was able to procure a special zero interest academy bond, but it required a private partnership commitment of 10% of the total bonding. The Foundation agreed to partner with the school district in this endeavor, helping to save the district over $700,000 in finance charges and to secure funding for restoring the treasure that is the Hilltop Auditorium.

Through the generosity of the community and people like you we have started to make a difference. With continued support we expect to have an even greater impact on the future of not only our schools but on the entire community.
